Rockwoods Reservation

This area provides 1,880 acres of nature in west St. Louis County. Visitors discover Missouri’s forests and wildlife on seven hiking trails. Bird watching is excellent; Rockwoods Reservation is listed as an Important Bird Area (IBA) by Audubon Missouri. Take your binoculars and camera.

Picnic facilities provide a picturesque view. The visitor center offers naturalist-led programs; most require advanced registration.

To reach Rockwoods Reservation from I-44: north on Route 109 four miles to Woods Avenue, west on Woods Ave., north on Glencoe Road. The nature area is open daily, from sunrise until 30 minutes after sunset.
