Rocheport is a small town with a very rich history located in the middle of the state on the Missouri River. Rocheport’s history has included being a camp site on the Lewis and Clark Expedition; hosting the Whig Party gathering in the 1840’s; and being the headquarters for Bloody Bill Anderson during the Civil War.  It was a thriving shipping port at one point in time and was located on the MKT railroad. It is the home of the only tunnel on the MKT railroad (which was featured in a Stephen King movie). There are many historic buildings remaining in town. It is one of the most popular stops along the Katy Trail State Park.

The museum located at 101 Moniteau Street will open for the season on May 1, and then be open every Saturday and Sunday through the end of October — from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m.

A $1 donation is requested as admission for ages 12 and older. No donation is requested for children under the age of 12.
