Daviess County Court House

This courthouse was constructed in 1908 and houses one of only a few working, original hand-wound Seth Thomas clocks of its type remaining in the United States. One in the Smithsonian Institution in Washington D.C. has been mechanized.

The four clock faces operate on the original weight and cable system. Gallatin’s courthouse clock is still hand wound every seven days.
