World Bird Sanctuary

This wildlife encounter, situated on 305 acres, offers self-guided displays of live eagles, owls, hawks, vultures, parrots, falcons, reptiles and other critters. Special programs, such as scout badge programs, bird watching tours and bird-day parties, may be scheduled with a naturalist, for a fee. Amazing Animal Encounters are 30-minute live animal programs, prestened free in the amphitheater on weekends, between Memorial Day and Labor Day. Birds in Concert is a free event held every Thursday evening in August, where birds fly over the audience while the sanctuary's own Raptor Project Band and other musicians entertain. Closed Thanksgiving and Dec. 25.
