The Victorian stone house was the home of artist Thomas Hart Benton from 1939 until his death in 1975. Benton converted the carriage house into his art studio.
The main house and the studio contain many of his belongings and works of art. A blank canvas, paintbrushes and paints remain in the studio just as Benton left them. Guided tours are offered of both buildings.
Access to the site grounds is free; fees are charged for tours of the home and studio. Check the website for more information.
