Swallows Nest, located at the corner of Fourth and Elm St. in Historic Downtown Washington, Missouri dates back to 1880 when it was the original home of the Droege family. In the early 1900s the home became the Thias-Lefmann Funeral Home until 1920 when it was purchased by Nieberg and Vitt to continue as the Nieberg-Vitt Funeral Home.
In 2019, this historic two-story home was purchased by a family with a vision for historic renovation.
As you enter the downtown district you will drive by a beautiful stone fountain that serves as a monument to this historic transformation. As you enter the building you will be surrounded by boutique treasures that include furniture, home décor, and fashion items with a mix of vintage, vintage-inspired, repurposed, and new.
