State Historical Society of Missouri – Museum

Founded in 1898, the State Historical Society of Missouri is a research facility for the study of the Show-Me State's heritage. Through educational settings, such as the National History Day in Missouri program, genealogy workshops, or art exhibitions with special opening events, the SHSMO not only brings Missouri history to the state's citizens, it gives Missourians the tools they need to uncover history in their own lives. The SHSMO publishes the Missouri Historical Review, a scholarly quarterly, which has served as the cornerstone of the publication program since 1906.
