The Shepherd of the Hills Farm and Outdoor Theatre has been a favorite of Branson visitors for more than 100 years. The Ozark Mountains first caught the interest of the nation in 1907 when Harold Bell Wright’s novel, The Shepherd of the Hills, was published.
Wright’s characters in the novel are based on people he met during his visit to the Ozark Mountains in the late 1800’s, and the places he describes are on or surrounding the Shepherd of the Hills property of today. While visiting, you can take a Historic Farm Tour and experience the Shepherd of the Hills Outdoor Drama, which bring Wright’s timeless tale to life.
Shepherds Adventure Park, the newest addition to the Shepherd of the Hills, is full of a variety of exciting activities for all ages. Due to their adventure park installment, Shepherd of the Hills was voted USA Today’s Best Aerial Adventure Park in America in 2019 and 2020! For another adrenaline rush, take a Zipline Canopy Tour. Those who want just a little adventure can take a shorter canopy tour that requires little hiking and no stair-climbing—great for the whole family!
You don’t want to miss the panoramic views from Inspiration Tower, the highest point in southwest Missouri. After enjoying the vistas, ride back down the elevator or hop on the Vigilante Extreme ZipRider to explore more of the property.
Explore the 3-story outdoor Ropes Course for a unique and active adventure. There’s even a Little Tykes Course for those under 48 inches tall! The littlest ones in your group might also like Lil Pete’s Playland with its timed American Ninja Warrior Course, treehouses, putt-putt golf, petting zoo, gem sifting and more.
Shepherd of the Hills transforms to a winter wonderland during the holiday season. Catch Santa at the North Pole Adventure and drive through a large display of Christmas lights winding throughout the entire 160-acre Homestead in the Trail of Lights.
