Roaring River State Park is named for its spring-fed stream, which beckons anglers who are eager to land lunker trout. The stream is stocked regularly and is open for catch-and-keep fishing from March through October. Catch-and-release fishing is permitted at certain times during the rest of the year. See the Department of Conservation’s website for seasons and hours.
Other activities at this scenic park include hiking, camping, lodging, picnicking and nature programs. The rustic Emory Melton Inn and Conference Center houses the park restaurant, as well as three meeting rooms and 26 guest rooms.
