Pershing State Park is an excellent example of the wetland landscape once common in northern Missouri. Trails provide access to bottomland forests, marshes, a wet prairie, a remnant savanna and a winding creek. The park also offers campsites, fishing lakes, picnic shelters and a historic covered bridge.
The park was established in honor of Gen. John J. Pershing, whose boyhood home is located in the nearby town of Laclede.
