Onondaga Cave, a National Natural Landmark within Onondaga Cave State Park, is recognized as one of the most spectacular caves in the nation because of its high-quality formations. Tours lasts about an hour and 15 minutes, covering about 1 mile of passageways. The cave has a year-round temperature of 57 degrees Fahrenheit. Participants should bring a light jacket.
Discounts are offered for groups of 10 or more people. Group reservations must be made at least two weeks in advance but can be made up to seven months in advance.
Visitors to Onondaga Cave State Park can also tour the park’s Cathedral Cave. Both the Onondaga Cave tour and the Cathedral Cave tour are offered seasonally and require paid admission. Check the official website for tour dates and fees.
