The Gray/Campbell Farmstead
The Gray/Campbell Farmstead

The home of John Polk Campbell, nephew and namesake of the founder of Springfield. The farmstead includes: the 1856 house; detached log kitchen; log granary; two-crib barn; and the family cemetery. It is located in the Nathanael Greene Park.

The farmstead is a not-for-profit historic site, dedicated to teaching younger generations about life in the 1860s. Guides are present many weekends to discuss the history of the farmstead and the artifacts it contains.

The site is staffed by volunteers, so it is a good idea to call to make sure the buildings are open. Open during the week for school groups, by appointment.

Open April thru October.
