First Missouri State Capitol State Historic Site

This building housed Missouri’s first state government from 1821 until 1826, before Jefferson City became the capital. Governmental chambers, a residence, the governor’s office and a dry goods store have been restored. Exhibits and tours are available.

Admission to the site grounds and visitor center is free. Fees are charged for tours of the First State Capitol. Check the website for tour times and fees.
