This day-use park straddles the lush valley of the Meramec River and has some of the highest-rated trails in the state. Hiking and mountain biking are permitted on eight different trails, two of which are also open to horseback riding. Picnic areas, shelters and a playground are available in the eastern portion of the park.
Due to safety concerns, swimming and wading in the Meramec River are strictly prohibited within the park. Kiefer Creek is a good alternative for visitors who want to cool off. Park visitors are welcome to fish the river from the shore or from small boats.
