The cave was discovered in 1925 and opened to the public in 1927. Substantial artifacts were discovered, including arrowheads, grinding stones and tools made of bone — with some items dating to 5,000 B.C.
Bluff Dwellers Cave is open for tours year-round. Winter and summer hours are different. Check website. Guided tours take approximately 1 hour and are limited in size due to the nature of some passageways. All tours are first come, first serve. Last tour is 1 hour before closing time.
The museum is included with admission and has a wide variety of rocks, minerals, fossils, arrowheads, artifacts, antiques and more. Gem panning is available. To fully enjoy the cave and the museum, allow 1.5 – 2 hours.
