Bluff City Theater is a small professional theater located in the former Farmers and Merchants Bank building at 212 Broadway in Historic Downtown Hannibal. Built in 1910, the F&M building is an iconic neo-classical structure featuring four Missouri limestone Corinthian columns supporting a portico. Operated as a bank until 1970, the site stood vacant until it was restored in 2014 to create an intimate 90 seat performance space. Bluff City Theater is an SPT Equity theater dedicated to producing theatrical works rooted in literature- from books, about authors or characters from books. We produce five plays each year in a variety of genres, including drama, comedy and musicals and frequently stage environmental productions at interesting local venues which have included the abandoned Federal building at 600 Broadway, a cabin on the riverfront and a moving transit bus.
The theater operates year-round as a performance venue. When not hosting its own productions, Bluff City Theater hosts a variety of musical, theatrical and community events. Check out our website for current details.
