Al’s Restaurant is a legend, serving award-winning steaks, fish, lobster and pasta in St. Louis since 1925. The lighting is subdued, the atmosphere dignified, the service professional. The wine list is extensive.There is no menu. Your waiter (in suit and tie) recites a list of salads and appetizers. When you are ready to order your main course, he brings out a silver tray holding the evening’s available meats and fishes, and informs you of the methods of preparation available. Then, he discusses a long list of (à la carte) side dishes from which to choose.
