A. Museum of Anthropology

Learn more about the world's cultures at this museum, where permanent exhibits focus on American Indian cultures from throughout North America. The Museum's archaeological collection, the largest holding of prehistoric Missouri artifacts in the world, includes millions of items dating from 9,000 B.C. to modern times.


A. Harpo’s – Columbia

Boasting delicious food, friendly bartenders, and that down-home sports bar atmosphere for more than 40 years. With more than 13,000 total square feet, including 100 feet of bar space, spread amongst five fully stocked bars. Full lunch and dinner menus. Rooftop “Sky Bar.”

B. Flat Branch Pub and Brewing

You're in a college town, you might as well have a brew, right? Flat Branch offers plenty of brews, plus a great menu offeringeverything from sandwiches to wood-fired pizza, barbecued ribs to steaks, salmon to pasta. There is an ever-changing array of hand-crafted beers brewed on-site, many using hops grown in Missouri; a minimum of 10 are on tap any given day.


A. The State Historical Society of Missouri Cape Girardeau

The State Historical Society of Missouri Research Center-Columbia offers a reference library, manuscript collections, and art galleries. The gallery is located in Ellis Library, on the University of Missouri campus. The Main Gallery and Corridor Galleries feature rotating exhibits, with selected paintings by George Caleb Bingham and Thomas Hart Benton on permanent display.

B. The District in Columbia

Situated between three colleges, The District (43 not-so-square blocks downtown) is a hip, active and artistic area. The District's friendly and energetic vibe is up early and stays late, with a lively mix of historic architecture, sidewalk cafes, retail shops, and restaurants.

With 110 unique shops, 70 bars and restaurants, and nearly 45 live performances every week, you’ll find plenty of things to keep you busy.
