Fall Fun in Springfield

Morning

A. Public Art and Sculpture Tour

Head to downtown Springfield to find colorful streets and buildings that feature interesting art, sculptures and installations. The Public Art and Sculpture Tour, presented by Springfield Regional Arts Council, can help you plan your visit.

B. Askinosie Chocolate Factory Tour

Check out where the sweet stuff is made at Askinosie Chocolate, a bean-to-bar chocolate manufacturer located in Springfield. Visitors can take a look inside and see exactly where the chocolate is made, as well as sample different varieties and shop for those chocolate lovers on their list. Askinosie Chocolate is a Missouri favorite and was recently named one of America’s best chocolates by Bon Appétit magazine.

C. Dickerson Park Zoo

Let your imagination run wild at the Dickerson Park Zoo. With more than 340 different types of animals, you are sure to spot your favorite. Be sure to check out the special exhibits, including “A Walk on the Wild Side,” and the children’s area.

Evening

A. Nakato Japanese Restaurant – Springfield

A family owned restaurant for over more than 30 years, Nakato introduced Springfield to the traditional Japanese style of Teppan Yaki. Nakato is now renowned in Springfield for fresh-tasting, delicious sushi and Japanese cuisine prepared by expert Hibachi chefs. While you’re there, try the Lobster Roll, which features fresh sushi served in a unique arrangement.

B. Sakura Japanese Sushi Bar – Springfield

If you’re in the mood for seriously great sushi, head over to Sakura Japanese Sushi Bar and Grill. Sakura is known for delicious, authentic sushi at a very reasonable price. Be sure to check out some of their specialty rolls, such as the housemade Sakura Roll or the Blue Point Roll, full of spicy crab and cucumber and topped with seared tuna.

The Moxie offers Springfield movie fans and visitors an opportunity to see first-run independent and foreign films in an intimate, unique setting. Stop in for a matinee, or make an evening of it while sipping on a glass of wine.
