Augusta was the first federally designated viticulture area in the United States. The area around Augusta, including the villages of Defiance, Dutzow and Marthasville, encompasses several bed and breakfast inns, boutique shops, a microbrewery and excellent wineries where guests can savor award winning Missouri wines while enjoying a picnic lunch, live music and great views.


A. The Historic Daniel Boone Home

Step into history at the Historic Daniel Boone Home at Lindenwood Park. The Daniel Boone Home is in the rolling hills of wine country, overlooking the Femme Osage Valley. This beautiful setting represents life in the early 1800s, from its adventures to its lifelong struggles. The Boone Home brings the legacy of Daniel Boone to life. Within the thick limestone walls, stories of a daring man offer a glimpse into family matters, risky adventures and hard fought battles.The village is a simulated town, comprised of more than a dozen 19th century buildings moved to the site from within 50 miles, including: a general store, school house, grist mill, carpenter shop and the Old Peace Chapel.


A. Blumenhof Winery

Blumenhof is German for Court of Flowers, named after the Blumenberg's ancestral farm in Germany. Blumenhof specializes in making award-winning wine from locally-grown grapes - grown within 60 miles of the winery. Enjoy estate bottled wines made by the Blumenberg family since 1986.

B. Augusta Winery

Augusta Winery features a year-round tasting room, gift shop, and a covered terraces. The Wine and Beer Garden is open April through October with free, live music on the weekends.

C. Montelle Winery and Klondike Cafe

Situated atop Osage Ridge, 400 feet above the Missouri River bottoms. Breathtaking views; a tasting room; gift shop; free Wi-Fi; an expansive outdoor deck under the trees.

D. Mount Pleasant Estates Winery — Augusta

Founded in 1859, Mount Pleasant Winery is within the Augusta Appellation, the first federally designated viniculture district in the United States.

The tasting room offers samples and sales. Award-winning estate-bottled wines and ports are aged in the original limestone cellars.

Enjoy a bottle of wine while relaxing under the trees on our large, terraced patios. 


A. Augusta Brew Haus & Bier Garden

The Augusta Brewing Company & Beer Garden is located on the KATY Trail in Augusta. With Augusta's strong German heritage, there has always been a love of great beers. Try one in this unique setting.

B. H.S. Clay House and Guest Cottage Bed and Breakfast

Circa 1867 cottage and 1885 Victorian house, both decorated with unusual antiques. Located four blocks from the Katy Trail, wineries, micro-brewery, shops, massage therapy, history museum and restaurants.

This circa 1865 house is located one block from the Katy Trail, amidst Augusta's acclaimed wineries. Apple Gate offers three guest suites, each with private bath and private entrance; one has a kitchenette. A full, hot breakfast is served.
