Nature Art: Leaf Casting

Making concrete leaf castings of native Missouri trees is fun, and the more you experiment with different types of leaves, the more exciting the art becomes. Cement castings of leaves are always eye-catching in the garden, especially when hand-painted in beautiful shades of greens, gold or even left the natural concrete color. This is a two-part class and attendance for both dates (September 14 and September 19) is mandatory for registration of this course. Space is limited so sign up early.

Early settlers of the Missouri Ozarks were creative when it came to making things they needed to survive, including eating utensils. Join us we discuss the types of woods ideal for carving as you whittle and shape your own spoon from a piece of cut wood.

This class is a 12-month program that will meet once a month all year long. You will learn simple, but beautiful embroidery techniques as we explore some of the most stunning and unique trees found in the beautiful landscapes of Missouri. By signing up, you are committing to attend all twelve of the monthly sessions so that you will be able to complete all 15 blocks for an entire quilt.
