Nature Art: Pressed Flowers

Learn about Missouri native wildflowers and extend the wildflower season by conserving your favorite blooms through the art of pressing flowers.
Turkey Hunting: Turkey Fan Class
Registration period: April 18 – May 13
Date: Tuesday, May 20, 4:00 – 8:00 p.m.

Utilize your turkey harvest this year and create a fan, spurs and beard display. Learn how to create a turkey fan that will last forever and look amazing on your wall. After harvesting your turkey cut the tail off at the bone and place in a freezer bag. Also, take the legs and beard and place them in a freezer bag. If you don’t have a turkey fan to use, please withdraw from class so someone from the waitlist can join.

Historic and Primitive Skills: Leather Crafting Knife Sheath

Learn the history behind leather and the different techniques Native Americans and Europeans utilized to make leather for different products. You will be creating your own leather knife sheath. You will design it from start to finish and learn valuable skills along the way. You will need to bring your own knife. It can be a straight blade or a pocketknife, whatever you prefer. Learn embroidery techniques while also exploring “Wildflowers” by stitching quilt blocks based on that theme.

This class is a 12-month program (June 2024 – May 2025) that meets each month. You will learn simple, but beautiful embroidery techniques as we explore some of the most stunning and unique wildflowers native to Missouri. By signing up, you are committed to attending all twelve of the monthly sessions so that you will be able to complete all 15 blocks for an entire quilt.
Paddle Sports: Introduction to Kayaking

Kayaking is a great way to get outdoors and connect with nature. Join us as we learn about the equipment and techniques needed to kayak safely in Missouri before experiencing being on the water yourself. All kayaking equipment will be provided. Bring close-toe shoes, a water bottle and dress for the weather. Registration is required for each paddler. Ages 12+
