The Battle of Carthage Reenactment is a biannual historical event honoring the 1861 Battle of Carthage, recognized as the first Civil War engagement west of the Mississippi River. Through accurate reenactments, period encampments, and educational demonstrations, the event provides insight into military life and civilian experiences during the Civil War, preserving an important chapter of Carthage’s history.
