Held annually on the third Saturday of October, the Maple Leaf Festival is a celebration of the beauty of Carthage during the fall months as well as the towns rich history. This festival is packed with festivities and events for all ages. The day begins with the largest parade in the Southwest Missouri, showcasing school’s athletic teams, bands, local businesses and so much more, followed by the traditional band competition which gave Maple Leaf Festival its start. Hundreds of local vendors that include food along with arts and crafts vendors will surround the historic square offering a unique shopping opportunity. Maple Leaf weekend is a popular destination for family and class reunions as well. The City of Carthage and the Carthage Chamber of Commerce welcome visitors from all over the country for this annual fall celebration.
