St. Louis is primarily known for beer giant Anheuser-Busch but it has so much more to offer.
There are 12 microbreweries/brew pubs in the city itself and many more in the surrounding cities. These spots have a wide variety of options from traditional German beer to new flavor varieties that are on the cutting edge of the craft-beer scene. So you can sip a beer at Schlafly just a few miles from the Gateway Arch or get a beer in the Loop before your concert starts.
Southern Missouri has no shortage of breweries. Multiple locations, such as Charleville and Crown Valley, combine breweries and vineyards into one business that offers a unique experience for beer and wine lovers alike. If you want some scenery with your craft beer, the Ozark Mountains is perfect for that. There are several breweries nestled in to the landscape of that region. In the south you’ll also find Springfield, a college town that has three thriving microbreweries, Mother’s Brewing Company, White River Brewing Company and Springfield Brewing Company.
Kansas City is another Missouri city packed with breweries. The crossroads district has several brewpubs within walking distance, like Casual Animal and Emperial Brewery, which offer delicious snacks with even better beer. And of course Kansas City is home to craft beer giant Boulevard Brewing Company. It’s just a short drive from downtown if you want to catch a tour to see the behind the scenes of how beer is made or hang out in their 10,000 square foot beer hall.
Mid-Missouri is no slouch when it comes to beer. It has multiple award-winning brewpubs, such as Prison Brews in Jefferson City or Logboat Brewing Company in Columbia, that feature a wide variety of decor from prison themed to recycled wood and energy efficient lights.
Across Missouri, you find a variety of destinations and attractions to explore. After a day of adventure, relax at one of the Show-Me State’s breweries or brewpubs. Chances are, you’re never far from a true taste of Missouri.
Can’t visit a taproom? Check a grocery or liquor store for local beer selections.
