If you’re looking for variety, The Fountain on Locust in St. Louis rotates 47 different made-from-scratch soups on their menu, including vegan, vegetarian and gluten-free options. Their signature Polish Dill Pickle soup is made from a secret family recipe with a potato base and crushed dill pickles.
With Mardi Gras around the corner, it’s the perfect time to laissez les bon temps rouler (“let the good times roll”) at Broussard’s in Cape Girardeau. A traditional New Orleans classic, their authentic, slow-simmered gumbo has a deep, rich flavor and just enough kick to add the perfect amount of heat to a cold day.
