Couples Getaway at Lake of the Ozarks

If you’re dreaming of a summer getaway for two, plan a trip to the Lake of the Ozarks. It’s a perfect place to spend some time together, get out on the water, and enjoy great food and drink.

Find a hotel, resort or rental property for your escape and fill your days however you see fit: boating, swimming, shopping and sightseeing are popular options. Here are a few suggestions for a long weekend at the lake:

Arrival day
– After checking in, see the lake from above with Paradise Parasail in Lake Ozark. Enjoy the shared experience as you reach heights up to 500 feet above the water and then chose your style of landing (just dipping your toes or getting soaked). After you dry off, relax with a casual meal and cold drink at H. Toad’s Bar and Grill, part of the Camden on the Lake Resort. Cap your day off at Main Street Music Hall with a show you won’t forget.

Day two – Sleep in a bit – you’re on vacation, after all – and then head to Adventure Boat Rentals in Osage Beach to find a boat or personal watercraft to suit your style. Out on the water, cruise the main channel and then find a quiet cove for relaxing. When you get hungry, head to a lakeside grill like Dog Days or Captain Ron’s for a quick lunch. In the afternoon, make your way to Bridal Cave to tour one of the Show-Me State’s underground treasures. At day’s end, linger over a romantic dinner while enjoying the scenic views at Baxter’s Lakeside Grille.

Departure day – All good things must come to an end, but there are a few more sights to see before you hit the road. Start your day with an invigorating hike at Ha Ha Tonka State Park, where you’ll find one of Missouri’s beautiful springs, natural rock formations and the remains of an old stone castle. Grab some Missouri barbecue, perhaps a rack of ribs, at Wobbly Boots Roadhouse on your way out of town.
