Join us for an interactive American Sign Language (ASL) tour of the exhibition Carolina Caycedo: Growing Deep Roots, which brings together new and recent works by the Los Angeles–based Colombian artist that address the interrelated issues of water and land stewardship, just energy transition and reciprocal relationships between humans and the natural world.
Incorporating sculpture, drawing, printmaking and video, Caycedo draws on environmental justice frameworks, traditional knowledge systems, and ecofeminism to examine the social and ecological consequences of extractive development while imagining more sustainable futures. Works from several of Caycedo’s ongoing series are featured alongside new commissions informed by the artist’s research into Midwestern prairie grasses and perennial agriculture systems.
The tour will be conducted in ASL with interpreters available.
