The USS Aries Hydrofoil Museum is an outdoor museum featuring the Navy’s last Patrol Hydrofoil Missile (PHM) ship. The museum also owns six other hydrofoils, both military and civilian, domestic and international, and some in “flying” condition. The museum sits at the confluence of the Gasconade and Missouri Rivers on the historic Gasconade Boatyard, which was a Corps of Engineers facility operated from about 1889 to 1956.
The site is vulnerable to inclement weather and flooding, so tours are arranged by appointment only at or after 10:30 a.m. A tour of the museum is typically available on Saturday and Sundays — 10:30 a.m. until 6 p.m. — with a pre-arranged appointment. Tours can also be arranged throughout the week with advanced notice and requests.
