The Chapel – Chef’s Place

See Photo Location

Chef Jon DeClercq has been preparing food since he was a young child.

He attended and graduated from Stockton High in 1989, he then moved to Phoenix to become better acquainted with his grandparents. While Jon was there he trained and “cut his teeth” at a high Italian restaurant. He then returned to the Stockton area to manage and prepare food at the State Park Dining Lodge. When it closed he returned to Arizona and began working at one of the top golfing and dining lodges in the state as a Sous Chef, and then climbed the rank to become Executive Banquet Chef, very prestigious indeed. After 18 years at the position he decided to slow down a bit and became the chef at another local country club so he could spend more time with his family as the new position didn’t require as much of his time. Since then he decided to make the move back to Missouri and open The Chapel, Chef’s Place – through this story you can clearly understand where the name comes from. Jon and his wife love to spread their love and community fellowship through their establishment and food. We hope you loved learning the history of our journey and invite you to dine and share your experiences with us.
