The Nature Sanctuary is a multi-acre wildlife sanctuary retreat with an interpretive nature center, natural habitats, and miles of nature trails. A wide range of children’s and family programs are held throughout the season.
Trails open year-round; summer hours (start May 1) 8 a.m.-8 pm., winter hours (start Oct. 1) 8 a.m.-5 p.m. Nature Center open Tue.-Sat., 9 a.m.-5 p.m. (Nature Center is closed major holidays and the day before or after).

Martha Lafite Thompson Nature Sanctuary is a private nonprofit nature organization with a 100-acre wildlife sanctuary. About four miles of trails traverse diverse habitats, including, wheel chair accessible paved trail and a trail-side bird blind in the prairie.
The Nature Sanctuary offers educational programs and events. The Nature Center with classrooms, a gift shop, library, indoor bird viewing area, and exhibits (including some live animals) is open Tuesday through Saturday, 9 a.m.-5 p.m.
