The Carthage Chamber of Commerce in Carthage, Missouri is a private, non-profit organization dedicated to supporting local businesses and strengthening the community. Since 1932, the Chamber has united business and civic leaders to promote economic growth, job creation and an enhanced quality of life. Through advocacy, networking and marketing initiatives, the Chamber works to ensure long-term success for its members and the region.
The Chamber also serves as a visitor resource center, offering tourism information, maps, guides and fun Carthage-themed and Route 66 swag for purchase.
In addition, the Chamber organizes the beloved annual Maple Leaf Festival, held the third week in October. This weeklong celebration begins with a BBQ cookoff and motorcycle show and concludes with the largest parade in Southwest Missouri. The nearly two-mile parade starts at 9 a.m., circles the Historic Carthage Square, travels down Grand Avenue, and ends at Carthage Junior High School. Throughout the week, the Square comes alive with arts and crafts vendors, food, live entertainment, a quilt show, kids’ activities, a petting zoo, Touch-a-Truck, Taco Tuesday, a Night of Praise, walking tours, and a free Friday night concert—welcoming visitors to America’s Maple Leaf City each October.
