Burr Oak Woods is 20 miles east of downtown Kansas City. The area is composed of 1,071 acres of woodlands, glades, native grass and forb plantings. It also features fields, ponds and includes a scenic portion of Burr Oak Creek.
The Nature Center features a collection of permanent and temporary conservation exhibits and includes a 168-seat auditorium and a 3,000-gallon aquarium.
