The Avenue Theatre originally opened in 1950 as a movie house. It has been renovated over the years, but retains its Art Deco details.
It is now home to community theater, with plays staged throughout the year, including a musical production each summer. Whether you’re in West Plains at the right time to catch a show or just enjoy seeing a bit of vintage history, it’s worth a trip to the downtown historic district to have a look at the Avenue Theatre.
