U.S. 63 Itinerary Part II

See Photo Location

This section of Route 63 takes you into Southeast Missouri and the beautiful rolling hills of the Missouri Ozarks. Charming small towns and unique attractions dot the landscape here.

Evening

A. Grand Gulf State Park

Cap your day with a visit to what's often called the "Little Grand Canyon." The gulf was created when the ceiling of a giant cave collapsed more than 10,000 years ago. An remnant of the original cave forms a 250-foot natural bridge.

Afternoon

A. Golden Hills Resort and Trail Rides

This ranch (a short drive east of 63) includes spring-fed streams, forest, massive bluffs, large caves; some caves are large enough to ride your horse into. You can ride the trails every day for a week and not cover the entire distance. The trails are marked and maps are provided. Lodging is designed for the ranch lifestyle; suites, individual rooms, and bunkhouses for eight.

B. Willow Springs Municipal Golf Course

A nine-hole gem with bent grass greens and zoysia tees. Three holes have water in play. Five sets of tee markers allow the course to be played from a par-three layout to a challenging 6,164-yard, par-35 course.
