Family Fishing: Family Fishing Day 2023

Registration period: July 8 – August 19

Date: Saturday, August 19, 2023, 10 a.m.-2 p.m.

Location: Twin Pines Conservation Education Center

Kick back and enjoy the day with the family under the shade of the pines surrounding the pond at Twin Pines Conservation Education Center. No fishing license is needed at this “catch and release” event. Food and drinks will be served. Reservations are recommended.

This program is for all ages, so get out of the house and come and enjoy the fun. For further information call 573-325-1381.

 

Nature Art: Pine Needlers (VIRTUAL)

Registration period: July 19 – August 24

Date: Thursday, August 24, 2023, 4 p.m.-5 p.m.

Location: Twin Pines Conservation Education Center

Learn embroidery techniques while also exploring “Trees of Missouri” by stitching quilt blocks based on that theme.

 

Nature Art: Pine Needlers

Registration period: July 10 – August 24

Date: Thursday, August 24, 2023, 6 p.m.-7 p.m.

Location: Twin Pines Conservation Education Center

This class is a 12-month program (June 2023-May 2024) that meets each month. You will learn simple, but beautiful embroidery techniques as we explore some of the most stunning and unique trees native to Missouri.

By signing up, you are committing to attend all twelve of the monthly sessions so that you will be able to complete all 15 blocks for an entire quilt.

 

Nature Art: Basket Weaving

Registration period: August 6 – August 26

Date: Saturday, August 26, 2023, 9 a.m.-noon

Location: Twin Pines Conservation Education Center

Ever wanted to learn how to weave your own basket? This program will discuss what native woods around Missouri work best for weaving while participants create their own slotted base basket.

 

Mammals: Black Bears of Missouri (VIRTUAL)

Registration period: August 5 – August 29

Date: Tuesday, August 29, 2023, 1 p.m.-2 p.m.

Location: Online only

Join us as we discuss some fun facts about black bears in Missouri. The bear population continues to increase around the state, so being “Bear Aware” is more important.
