Route 66 Cruise, Tunes & Taste is a three-day community celebration taking place July 17–19, 2026, throughout Wildwood’s historic Route 66 corridor in honor of the 100th Anniversary of Route 66.
Set among rolling hills, historic roadside landmarks, and one of the most scenic stretches of Route 66 in the St. Louis region, the weekend will highlight Wildwood’s unique blend of small-town character, historic preservation and community gathering spaces.
The celebration will feature live music, classic cars and motorcycles, historic exhibits, Route 66 presentations, food and beverage destinations, shopping, family activities and themed gathering spaces throughout the corridor.
Highlights include a Route 66-themed concert at Village Green on Friday evening; the Saturday Cruise event featuring a classic car cruise, activity nodes, live entertainment, museum tours, historic displays and family-friendly activities throughout the corridor; and Sunday Taste activities featuring special events, presentations, dining experiences and community gatherings at several Route 66 destinations.
The Saturday Cruise event will take place from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., with the official cruise beginning at 10:30 a.m. Shuttle service will operate throughout the event area for convenient access to activities and destinations.
Public attendance is free. Classic car registration is $10 per vehicle.
FRIDAY – TUNES
July 17 | 6:45–9:15 p.m.
Kick off the weekend with a Route 66-themed concert at Village Green featuring live music, classic vehicle displays, history experiences, Essen Log Cabin tours, and family-friendly fire, ambulance and police vehicle activities.
SATURDAY – CRUISE
July 18 | 10:00 a.m.–3:00 p.m. (Cruise at 10:30 a.m.)
Experience the heart of the celebration with a corridor-wide cruise, themed vehicle divisions, live music, restaurant tents, food trucks, pop-up activities, business specials, historical exhibits, games, dancing, and more across multiple Route 66 destinations throughout Wildwood. Free shuttles will connect activity nodes throughout the day.
SUNDAY – TASTE
July 19 | Throughout the Day
Wrap up the celebration with Route 66-themed dining experiences, brunch specials, live music, National Ice Cream Day at Singers Ice Cream, a historic marker unveiling at Big Chief Roadhouse and a special Route 66 presentation by Joe Sonderman.
