For the last 14 years each April Doniphan has celebrated its 19th Century History with Civil War Days. Newly re-christened "Doniphan Heritage Days" is a two-day festival celebrating the history of Doniphan in the entire 18th, 19th and early 20th centuries. From dawn through dusk throughout the day on Friday and Saturday, vintage craft demonstrations will be held at the Heritage Homestead with Blacksmiths manning the Tom Kennon Blacksmith Shop, where spectators can watch craftsmen work as well as purchase items. Other traditional crafts such as weaving, spinning, shingle making and tie hacking will also be represented.  Both craft and food booths will be open throughout both days. Bluegrass and traditional music groups will perform, and wagon rides will be available for the kids. A true celebration of the best of the past.
