BLACKWATER REDEMPTION EXPERIENCE

The Blackwater Redemption Experience is an interactive, immersive “Red Dead Redemption” and “Frontier” event, celebrating the inclusion of Missouri (via Blackwater) in the “Red Dead Redemption” video game phenomenon. The event is formatted along the idea of a small Renaissance faire, but themed after Red Dead Redemption and the Missouri/American Frontier.

Downtown Blackwater, Missouri will be transformed into a “Red Dead/Frontier” playground.  This includes reenactors interpreting scenes from the game, street actors and scenes based on both gameplay and frontier “wild west” lore.

The Iron Horse Hotel will be transformed into a Frontier Casino, featuring period games.

The Blackwater Corral will hold horsemanship demonstrations activities.

“Toby’s Travelling Tent Show Games” will recreate the excitement of old travelling shows, which once travelled the backroads and small towns of Missouri bringing entertainment and spectacles from afar.

The “Declaration of Independence Park” will celebrate America’s 250th birthday with stump speeches, a reading of the Declaration, poetry and prose, and early American songs. A large birthday cake will also be shared.

Tonepahote Drum group of the Kiowa Native American Tribe will perform dancing, drumming and other Native American activities.

The “Frontier Music Fair” will include musicians from around Missouri performing Bluegrass, Ragtime, and Cowboy Guitar, and more.

A Missouri Made arts and crafts fair will take place at The Hollow (Event Venue).

Live action missions and quests will take place throughout the event, involving street actors, performers and scenes throughout the 3-block downtown area.

Contests will also take place throughout the day.

“Redemption at Night”, an evening “Add-On” dinner and immersive show, is also offered on Saturday night.

Although the event is based on the Red Dead Redemption games, it is not necessary to be familiar with the games to come and have a great time!  Anyone who loves the Wild West, interactive theatre, live music, great food, and games will have a great time.
