When was the last time you got away – just the two of you?

If you’re long overdue for a romantic getaway, a couples’ escape to Missouri is just what you need.

Stay in a bed-and-breakfast and let someone cater your morning meals. Check into an upscale resort and connect over dinner, drinks and a couples’ massage. Find a neighborhood with a guesthouse and stroll hand-in-hand to restaurants and shops as you enjoy time together.

Here are a few ideas to help you get started:

B and B Bonanza

The Hermann area is well-known for its wineries and bed-and-breakfast experiences, and Hermann Hill Village gives you a little bit of both. The luxury spa suites at Hermann Hill have plush features and include two-person hot tubs. If you so choose, breakfast can be delivered to your room. Massage packages are available and there are options for having refreshments, including popular Hermann wines, delivered to your room as well.

At The Hilty Inn Bed and Breakfast in Versailles you’ll appreciate the craftsmanship in this circa 1877 home, which features four guestrooms and home-cooked breakfasts. The Thornleigh Room has a king-sized bed, private restroom and private porch. Make arrangements to have breakfast in your room or have a private dinner prepared just for the two of you (extra fees apply).

For wild fun, look no further than Tiger Pointe Bed and Breakfast in Ste. Genevieve. Each suite at Tiger Pointe includes a king bed, a kitchen and a private balcony or patio with views of the countryside. Tiger Pointe is located next to the Crown Ridge Tiger Sanctuary, which is open for tours and is home to several rescued big cats, including a 500-plus-pound Siberian tiger named Izzy.

Romantic Resorts

High on a hill overlooking Table Rock Lake, Chateau on the Lake Resort Spa and Convention Center near Branson is a one-stop getaway for couples who want to spend their time together. From in-house dining at the Chateau Grille to a couples’ massage at Spa Chateau, the amenities at Chateau on the Lake are first-rate. You might inquire about the Romantic Rendezvous or His and Her Spa Packages to add to the experience.

For beautiful views of another lake, Lake of the Ozarks, and an amazing getaway for couples, check out Camden on the Lake Resort, Spa, and Yacht Club in Lake Ozark. Stay in one of the luxury suites and enjoy modern amenities such as flat-screen TVs and surround sound. The Lake Retreat package includes champagne and chocolates, a 50-minute couples’ massage and $50 toward dining at H. Toad’s Bar and Grill.

Guest-House Getaways

Strolling around the Central West End in St. Louis opens up a world of possibilities for couples, thanks to restaurants, shops, convenient access to Forest Park and the Elves Manor Guest House. This two-bedroom, two-bathroom home includes a fireplace and an outdoor jetted tub that’s available year-round. A selection of breakfast foods and snacks are available for guests, as is the private parking garage.

Kansas City’s love of all things artistic is on full display at Oak Street Mansion, where beautiful works of art adorn the walls. The home is near both the Kemper Museum of Contemporary Art and the Nelson-Atkins Museum of Art. There are several guest rooms from which to choose, but since you’re in Kansas City – a longtime hub for jazz music and musicians – try the Jazz Room, which counts a private balcony among its amenities. Other rooms, such as the Abstract Room, feature jetted tubs.
