Smallin Civil War Cave offers 1-hour guided tours on concrete walkways with no stairs into the 100 foot wide, 55 foot high arch entrance into the cave. Our visitor’s center & gift shop offers affordably priced souvenirs. We have a variety of historical and educational merchandise. Along the way to the gift shop, visit the “Sidewalk Museum”. Be sure to stop in and say hi! . Our trails are wheelchair and stroller friendly — no stairs, just gradual inclines.

A sidewalk museum, crawl fort, gemstone and fossil mining are available.

Wild cave tours offered by reservation:

• For the more adventurous guests, we offer a 2-hour, 1-mile underground adventure off the beaten path, lit only by the headlamp on your helmet. The off trail tour takes some planning so call 417 551 4545 to schedule and make arrangements. During this tour, you walk through at least 2 feet of 54-degree water and traverse rugged terrain; lace-up shoes, long pants and clothes that are fresh laundered are required (protecting our cave system). Headlamps, and helmets are supplied but you may bring your own if you prefer. Age 12 and older only; younger than 18 must be accompanied by parent.
