Missouri State Archives

The Missouri State Archives, created in 1965, is the official repository for all state records of permanent value. The Archives identifies, collects, preserves, and makes available the permanent and historically valuable records of Missouri's state and local governments. With documents dating from 1770, the archives are an outstanding facility for genealogical and historical research. Located in the James Kirkpatrick Building, two blocks west of the Capitol.
