Nestled in the Fleming Park Nature Preserve on the east side of Lake Jacomo, the Kemper Outdoor Education Center is a haven for nature lovers and educators.The Kemper Outdoor Education Center is home to the Jacomo Summer Camp for ages 6-13 and during the school year the center hosts the X-Stream Green field trip program which offers multi-station outdoor education for grade 1-6 classrooms.April 3-June 2, and Aug. 14-Oct. 31, Monday through Friday we are open to the public. We are also open the second Sunday of each month April-Sep., noon-4 p.m.Inside the Nature Center you will find rock and fossil exhibits, a natural resource library, mounted examples of native wildlife. The grounds feature nature trails, butterfly and water gardens, wildlife viewing areas, a shelter house, large pond and a day camp site.June 5-August 11 we are closed to the public on weekdays while the Jacomo Summer Camp is in session.
