Built in 1915, Excelsior Springs Golf Course has established trees, rolling hills, zoysia fairways/tees, driving range and practice facility.
As an added attraction, the clubhouse consists of the original on-site log cabin, built in 1825. Playing the 15th hole, known as Cardiac Hill, you find a monument in tribute to the Civil War Battle of Fredericksburg, which took place on the site.
Kids younger than 15 play free, Mon.-Thu. after noon and Fri.-Sun., after 2 p.m.. The course is located 35 minutes from downtown Kansas City.
The snack bar specializes in lunches, banquets and catering.
