Clay County Archives and Historic Library

We house marriage records, land records, and probate records from the time the county formed in 1822. We also have family files for many early settlers here. Find cemetery records for major and even small family burial grounds; also, we have files for businesses and communities up to about 1900. We have more than 10,000 photo images scanned and indexed. For research, we charge $5 per day or $15 per year, plus the cost of copies. We are an all-volunteer organization not funded by any government entity.
