Nestled in the oak/hickory hardwood timbers of eastern Jackson County, Blue and Gray Park is popular with horseback riders and hikers for its beautiful natural terrain. The park is located at 11824 S. Buckner Tarsney Road, Grain Valley, Mo.
The natural setting of the area offers a great opportunity to study wildlife and enjoy the wilderness. Because of the great interest in horseback riding, the park features equestrian trails and a shelter off of Hammond Road, just east of the Buckner Tarsney intersection, with pull-through capability for large trailers, picnic tables, a grill. Equestrian trails and parking are also accessible in the park from an entrance at 11301 S Brown Road. There are also facilities for primitive, organized group camping.
The reservation fee for equestrian trailer parking is $5 for a daily permit or $30 for an annual permit, good for the entire calendar year. The reservation fee for group overnight camping is $200 per night.
