The story of Alley is one of nature, people and a century-old mill, sitting at the heart of a beautiful Ozark scene within the Ozark National Scenic Riverways.Whether you are on an annual trip you’ve made since your childhood, or your first visit, take time to soak up the splendid scenery and get acquainted with Alley’s lively past. The Alley Mill was vital to community life, where grain was ground to provide daily bread. The present-day building was built in 1894 next to Alley Spring, and utilized a water turbine rather than a water wheel as its power-source. Alley Spring deposits 81 million gallons of water daily into the Jacks Fork River.
