August 21, 2017, will see the first total solar eclipse over the continental United States since 1979, and Columbia will be right in the middle of the action! Directly in the path of totality, Columbia invites you to witness this incredibly special astronomical happening with a weekend of fun eclipse-tastic events that lead up to an incredible 2 minutes and 36 seconds of totality on Monday afternoon in a festive atmosphere.
Cosmo Park and Gans Creek Recreational Area will serve as the city's two primary watch areas. Stay up to date on eclipse activities and events in Columbia with the Columbia CVB's official eclipse website.
