Herzog Mansion, formerly known as Birk's Gasthaus, is a comfortable old Victorian Mansion built in 1886 for the late Mr. William Herzog, which the name was changed to honor him. The mansion is being used again to entertain guests.
To better serve our guests, we have renovated all the guestrooms and the interior of the mansion. Exterior renovations will continue when weather permits. The mansion is furnished with some period furniture in the formal lady's parlor, claw-foot tubs are in most of the rooms (some with showers) and features eight-foot doors and transoms. We have added a game room with a 50" plasma TV, poker table and a full-size pool table. We have free Wi-Fi, central air conditioning and heating. You can relax on our wraparound covered veranda and enjoy our quiet location as you reminisce about the bygone era.
The mansion is only three blocks from Stone Hill Winery and Vintage Restaurant and a half-mile from Deutschheim State Historic Site and Hermann's downtown Historic District. Service by the Trolley; Amtrak is approximately one mile away. We offer complimentary pick-up from Amtrak and Katy Trail with prior arrangement. Herzog Mansion is open during the most beautiful seasons of the year: spring, summer and fall.
