Our History & Description
Located a block from Marshfield’s town square is the luxurious Florence Inn Bed & Breakfast. From the front yard you can see the replica of the Hubble Telescope on the square lawn. Walk through the arbor, up the cobblestone path and charming stairs to the graceful wraparound porch.
The romantic 4,200-square-foot inn was built in 1903 by the town doctor and his wife, Thomas and Mary Florence, and was the first house in town to have centralized heating: two fireplaces were added much later. The house and grounds have been completely remodeled throughout the past year to provide modern luxurious amenities but keeping the antiquity of yesteryears.
The inn is a two-story home with a large wraparound porch embellished with gingerbread accents inviting you to sit a while and enjoy the gardens. Ten-foot ceilings, stained glass tiffany lights, crown molding, delicate antiques and meticulously decorated rooms reflect the type of service you will enjoy in this by-gone era inn.
The Florence Inn Bed & Breakfast conveys romance and nostalgia with meticulous detail while offering the utmost in privacy and amenities. We work hard to maintain a relaxing, romantic adult ambiance. An emphasis on guest comfort, personal service, and attention to detail is evident throughout this charming Missouri bed and breakfast. You won’t forget the unmatched service, elegance and grace that are the hallmark of the experience at The Florence Inn Bed & Breakfast!
With expansive living and dining space inside and a variety of outdoor amenities available, the Florence Inn is so much more than a quaint place to stay the night. From romantic getaways, storybook weddings, honeymoons, special events, marriage renewals, baby/bridal showers, girl’s night out, recitals, chamber music or concerts, we assure you the Florence Inn is the ideal accommodation for your special occasion.
